I have been a student of science with a great affinity towards the Arts. I graduated in Architecture where I found this wonderful synthesis of Science and Art. I found Architecture to be the Mother Art where I was able to work with Sculpture, Pottery and Painting.
My Art has found its way into Architecture and vise versa.
Once I have and idea /concept I try to find the best possible way to express it in form through various medium such as drawing, painting or sculpture and sometimes a combination of all three.
(What it means to me?) Doing my Art makes me alert and present, enabling me to live in the moment. My objective is to bring this awareness into my Art and share this experience with the onlooker.
The philosophy behind my ART---
Primary part of my art has been derived from my spiritual quest for connecting with my true nature and abiding by it, and has been influenced by Buddhism and the philosophy of Advaita-literally meaning non –dualism, which is the premier and oldest extant among the Vedanta schools of Indian Philosophy. The quest is to understand “Brahman”(Ultimate Reality) and “Atman” (the spiritual self) and its relationship. My work also draws inspiration by spiritual teachers such as Ramana Maharishi , Sri Nisargadatta from India,Daisaku Ikeda -President of Soka Gakkai(Buddhist Network that promotes Peace Education and Culture through personal change and contribution) and Eckhart Tolle( Author of “ Power of Now”) from Vancouver Canada whose teachings have helped me and countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in our lives.
The basis of my artwork is an experiment for transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening which is the next step in human evolution. An essential aspect in transcending our ego- based state of consciousness. This is an important requirement not only for personal happiness but also for the ending of violent conflict prevalent in this world.
Through my art, I am exploring all the issues that lead to human liberation-freeing the Self from Illusion.
My painting and sketches are done in various mediums. Namely oil, watercolor, acrylic and pen& ink. My art has an abundant variety of forms, textures, varied tones and color, geometric patterns & symbols with personal and universal significance.
The main features of my work include:
Surrealism/Abstract art ( geometrical representation/ Patterns)
Representation of the Human Body as a symbol of the universe.
(To see the universe as if it was within ourselves, and ourselves as if we were within the universe. Thus, all that exists in the universe must also exist in the individual body)
My art reflects the whole body with its biological and psychological processes which becomes an instrument through the cosmic power reveals itself.
The purpose is to search for the whole truth and share all that I have experienced in my spiritual journey. It is especially intended to convey a knowledge evoking a higher level of perception, and tapping dormant sources of our awareness.
Apart from the aesthetic value of my paintings, its real significance lies in its content, the meaning it conveys and the philosophy of life it unravels.
I display a body of work where art is a spiritual practice, and will act as Pointers for the onlooker for their own meditative journey.
